Duffield Timber now has a sister
Company, Duffield Wood Pellets, set up to produce high quality wood pellets,
manufactured from ‘virgin timber’ waste and wood residues at our
purpose built plant adjacent to our current headquarters.
Kevin Bates joined us on 18 June
2007, as a succesor to Kris Yarborough who retires at the end of August 2008.
Kevin joins us after a career as a cabinet maker and workshop manager, a bit of
a "poacher turned gamekeeper".
Kevin, who is based in Rossendale, will
be covering much of Kris's old territory, including North Wales, Merseyside,
Greater Manchester, Lancashire and Cumbria.
Duffield Timber buys WLH Woodmachining
Northern Hardwood and Clear
Softwood specialists Duffield Timber has bought WLH Woodmachining Ltd.
"As we no longer convert round timber and having de-commissioned the Stenner
Bandmill, we have been seeking a partner to increase and develop our cutting,
profiling and mouldings division. The acquisition of WLH coupled with
additional significant investment gives us a real opportunity to progress our
expansion plans," said managing director Howard Duffield.
The staff
of WLH and its principal wood working machines have been re-located to
Duffield's premises in North Yorkshire; also in the move is the creation of a
new finishing factory for the lacquering of linear mouldings and components.
William Howgate with 37 years experience in the business has been appointed
Production Manager.
New Sales Team member
We are pleased to announce that our
sales team has been strengthened by the arrival of Clive Dunn, who boasts more
than 20 years experience, primarily in home grown timber sales. Clive, who
joined us on 3rd of January 2006, is based in Leicestershire and will be
covering his home county and the surrounding counties of Derbyshire,
Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire and Warwickshire
Visual
Strength Graded Oak
We are pleased to announce that we are
now able to offer European Oak strength graded.
Mike Hall succesfully
completed a Temperate Hardwoods (Oak) Visual strength grading course, which now
allows us to offer Oak graded to BS5756.
